The NC Building Commissioning Committee is a collaborative group of building and facility professionals committed to developing and promoting building commissioning practices for the State of North Carolina public facilities.
Senate Bill 668 and 1946, “An act to promote the conservation of energy and water use in State, University, and Community College Buildings” was ratified and signed into law in August, 2008. The act states that commissioning of new or renovated State owned facilities shall be required. A summary of the bill is under the Resources page, under Cx and related documents. A link to the actual bill can be found under the Links page.
The NC State Buildings Efficiency conference that presented the requirements of SB 668 and 1946 was held this past fall in Durham. The following is a link to all the presentations including building commissioning requirements.

- Provide recommendations on how to best procure and implement commissioning services.
- Demonstrate the benefits and justify the cost of commissioning new and existing buildings.
- Promote the inclusion of the Cx process in new building construction and renovations.
